This is a series of lunch baskets made of Madake bamboo and Chinese moonseed vines.
Two types with a rolled rim finish are presented here.




This basket is woven with strips of thinly peeled strips of the hard enamel outer skin of the bamboo. 
This process allows the color to change over time to a deeper amber color and shines with a glossy appearance.


“Caution”
At the time this photo was taken, it is a strong green color,
but this green will soon fade and turn to yellow and amber color.
Please note that the color may change from the photo when you receive the product.








Type A has horizontal strips of the same width, while Type B weaves together a combination of wider and narrower strips as shown in the photo.




Viewed from above, type A on the left is oval-shaped, while type B on the right is gently angular.








Both types have a rectangular bottom so that the lunch box fits nicely.






This is A type.


It is a lovely size, large enough to hold a lunch box for one person.






This is B type.


It is one size larger than Type A and can hold a lunch box for 2-3 people.




Here is a picture of a lunch basket and soup jar for two people. Instead of a soup jar, another lunch box for one more person could fit in it.






It is relatively small in size among Kiriyama’s works and could easily be used as a first bamboo basket.
Although it is called a lunch basket, it can also be used as a handbag.


The bamboo is so smooth that you can touch any part of the basket and forget that the bamboo is splintersy.
The bamboo is freshly made and green, but as you use it day after day, you will enjoy its amber color as it ages.


The amber color one in the back is a lunch basket that is over 20 years old.




It is quite heavy when you put a lunch box in it, 
though, ｔhe rim, handle, and bottom of the basket are all solidly made, 
it is durable enough to take the weight.


It is closely related to our daily life, It will be a cage that will stay by your side for several decades.
