Garden Basket with Handle Large / Madake Bamboo / Oita-JPN 220607-7 大分県/真竹(青竹) ガーデンバスケット 大 持ち手付き 簡易版 ルイ版
This large lidded basket is woven with strips of green bamboo. The basket itself is finished with bamboo and Tsudura-fuji vines, and it is one of the Garden Basket series. On this page, we introduce the large Garden Basket whose lid also has a handle.
Green bamboo refers to Madake bamboo freshly cut while still retaining its natural green color. This basket is woven with strips of green bamboo whose outer skin has been shaved thin.
By shaving the outer skin, the hard enamel-like layer is removed, giving the surface a softer appearance. It also adds a natural sheen, enhancing its beauty. Another characteristic is the way it gradually changes over time, turning evenly into a warm amber color.
The rim and handle are secured with Tsudura-fuji vines, adding an accent to the finish.
The rims, both of the body and the lid, are finished with bamboo and Tsudura-fuji vines, giving a result that is both beautiful and strong. The basket body and the handle are joined with bamboo nails and Tsudura-fuji vines. Both the body and the lid are finished in the same way.Looking at the base, both the lid and the body are reinforced with bamboo strips in an X-shape, along with four additional bamboo pieces set into the sides as braces. Here is the basket with the lid removed. The body alone can serve well, with ample capacity for gardening tools or a picnic lunch. This is the lid. Even by itself, it stands as a basket in its own right.Though shallow, it is finished just like the body basket, to the point that it feels as if it goes beyond the idea of a lid.
This type of Garden Basket was originally created at the request of people doing garden work. Yet the way you use it is entirely up to you.
You may use the two baskets separately in different places, or—as its name suggests—fill the lidded Garden Basket with plenty of food and drinks for an outing, which sounds truly delightful.
With its luxurious design, featuring a lid that also has a handle, this Garden Basket is one to be cherished for many years.
Please note that the color of green bamboo may vary depending on when it was harvested and the condition of the material. Some pieces may have a deeper green tone, while others may appear lighter or slightly yellowish. We kindly ask for your understanding that returns cannot be accepted for this reason.
