This is part of the Table Basket series, made from green bamboo and Tsudura-fuji vines. On this page, we introduce three sizes: small, medium, and large.
Green bamboo refers to Madake bamboo freshly cut while still retaining its natural green color. This basket is woven with strips of green bamboo whose outer skin has been shaved thin. Shaving the skin reduces the appearance of scratches or spots on the surface, while adding luster and enhancing its beauty. Over time, it gradually changes into a warm amber color, evenly and beautifully.
Wherever you touch, the surface is so smooth that you might forget bamboo can splinter.
The rim and handles are bound with Tsudura-fuji vines, adding an accent to the finish.
The entire basket is woven carefully and with strength.The rim is finished with shaved bamboo strips and Tsudura-fuji vines, resulting in a finish that is both beautiful and strong.Seen from above, the refined finish is clear. Even with its thick rim, the bamboo nodes are neatly aligned.The basket body and the handles are joined with bamboo nails.Note: From the July 2025 arrivals onward, the handle joints are no longer secured with bamboo nails alone, but reinforced by wrapping with Tsudura-fuji vines as shown in the photos. Please note that returns cannot be accepted due to this specification change.In all sizes, the inner bottom of the basket is finished with the ikada-bottom style, making it sturdy and durable.Looking at the base, there are bamboo strips set in an X-shape for reinforcement, along with four additional braces on the sides.
