For both the body and the lid, the rims are finished with polished bamboo and bound with Tsudura-fuji vines, giving beauty and strength. Seen from above, the refinement is clear, and even the shifts of the bamboo nodes on the wide rim look beautiful.


The handle and body are mainly joined with bamboo nails.


Depending on the material of the Tsudura-fuji vines and the maker’s process, the joint with the handle may or may not have an X-shaped vine wrap. Returns cannot be accepted for this difference. Items will be shipped as they arrive, so please understand in advance.






The inner bottom is finished with the ikada-bottom style. This method is often used for baskets meant to hold heavy items, so you may use it with confidence.


Here is the basket with the lid removed. Even the body alone seems practical enough.


And here is the lid. Even on its own, it works perfectly well as a basket. Though shallow, it is finished with the same refinement as the body, and almost feels beyond the idea of a “lid.”


Turn it upside down, and you will be surprised to see the base reinforced just as firmly as the body.


As you can see, the surface of the moonseed vine may show peeling at times, but this is not a defect.
