This is a coverall-style style apron made from Khadi cotton, a handwoven fabric from India.
It is designed like a kappogi (Japanese smock apron), covering the sleeves, front, and back of the body. There are two button fastenings at the back. Unbutton the one at the neck and slip it over your head for easy wearing. The buttons are made of small, delicate shell and fasten through loop-style buttonholes. Two pockets are placed on the front. With its relaxed width, the apron fits a variety of body types comfortably. The lightweight Khadi fabric makes it comfortable to wear for long periods without causing shoulder strain. The slightly long sleeves have elastic at the cuffs, allowing the wearer to adjust the sleeve position freely. The length is just right—not too long, not too short—making it easy to move in. At the hem or side, you’ll find the fabric’s natural selvage used as part of the design.
The fabric feels smooth and pleasant against the skin. The refreshing “Tattersall” pattern adds a cheerful touch just by wearing it.
This Khadi apron dries quickly and has excellent absorbency and heat retention.
Designed with both functionality and ease of movement in mind—like a kappogi— it also includes thoughtful details that enhance its comfort and usability.
Perfect for cooking, work, or house chores— this apron is made to be both practical and beautiful.
–– Series made by “Khadi” ––
Khadi, a traditional Indian cotton fabric, is made by spinning cotton threads by hand and weaving them on a handloom. Compared to machine-made mass-produced textiles, it requires significantly more time and care to create.
This khadi fabric was made in Rajasthan, a region in northwestern India. It is woven from organic cotton grown naturally —without irrigation canals and relying almost entirely on rainwater.
Because the cotton is hand-spun, small remnants of the cotton plant —such as bits of calyx—sometimes remain in the fibers. Although it is 100% cotton, the fabric has a rustic texture that resembles linen.
This khadi series is a branded collection created by Suno & Morrison, a Japanese-based design studio known for their work with natural materials.
Care Instructions
* We recommend hand-washing, or using a gentle hand-wash cycle with the item placed in a laundry net. Please wash separately.
* Please note that slight irregularities in color and weave may be visible. These are natural characteristics of the material.
* Although this item is dyed in India and treated to prevent color bleeding, slight fading may occur depending on conditions such as the season of yarn dyeing (e.g. monsoon period). To be safe, we recommend washing it separately from other items. For indigo-dyed products in particular, we suggest washing them alone for the first two or three times before use.
* As each piece is hand-dyed and handwoven, the color and pattern may vary slightly from the photos.
Please note: This item ships from Japan. As the buyer, you are responsible for any import duties, customs fees, or local taxes that may be charged in your country. These costs are not included in the item price or shipping cost. Please check with your local customs authority if you are unsure about any potential charges before placing your order.
