Introducing a basket that has the unique feature of having lids that open on both sides.






These baskets were made by Marian, who lives in southeastern Poland.






The willow has colorful bark on it, and these baskets are made of peeled bark.


A lot of preparation is done before the basket is woven, including sorting the materials and soaking them thoroughly in water.


Each basket is carefully woven, one weave at a time, using a wooden form that matches the shape of the basket.












When the willow branches are boiled in a special large boiling kettle to soften them, and then peeled of their outer skin, reddish-brown smooth branches like this appear.






Each strips are flexible, but the basket as a whole is solid and sturdy.


Occasionally, as shown in the photo, you may see some thin skin peeling, strips bouncing, cracks or dents on the surface of the strips, which we hope you will understand as a characteristic of the natural material. Please understand that this is not a defective product.








There are a total of four places on the lid where the strips are fixed with metal nails.


The lid opens to a maximum of this level when opened. What looks like white tape holding the lid and the center part together is thinly shaved willow.














Good size for a shopping basket.


A large basket that will hold plenty of vegetables, milk, seasonings, fish, meat, and other items.




Also useful for eggs, cakes, bread, and other items that you don’t want to mash or tilt at an angle.


For picnic and camping with lunch box, water bottle and food.






We also recommend using it as a storage basket for your room.
