This Shimekazari is made with the same high-quality rice straw used for constructing sumo wrestling rings. The fresh green straw is carefully twisted and braided by hand.

The pleasant fragrance and smooth feel of the straw rope convey the quality of the straw itself. Although it is difficult to see in the photo, a subtle dotted pattern appears when light passes through the shide. Shimenawa is sometimes said to represent clouds and shide lightning, while the dots on the shide seem almost like falling rain.Both ends of the straw rope are neatly trimmed to create a balanced shape.It comes with a straw cord for hanging.
